Sacraments |
|---|
"The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian's life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life."
(Catechism 1210)
Sacraments are outward signs of grace, instituted by Jesus Christ, and entrusted to the Church. Through them, divine life is given to us through the Holy Spirit. There are seven Sacraments in the Catholic Church divided into three "types": sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist); sacraments of healing (Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick); sacraments of Christian Commitment (Holy Matrimony and Holy Orders). These are special moments of grace where we are drawn deeper into the mystery of God's life and love. Click on the links to the left to see how Sacraments are celebrated at St. Rose of Lima.
